Sorry About the Silence! I’m Back!

Its been a crazy couple of months full of tons of activities. Enough to keep me away from blogging for a while. Oye!

Granted, the holidays start-up an entire different type of busy. But its more along the crafty side of busy as opposed to an I am never home. busy.

Even though I haven’t had that much time to sit down, I still managed to attend a really fun costume event called San Diego Fairy Tale Picnic. It was a small but fun gathering!

I managed to even snap a couple of photos of the shenanigans and post them over to Costume Nonsense.

You can check out the entry here!

When my free time finally broke, I actually had a chance to finish up the pics that were way over due.  Thank you to Patrick and Kandice for being so patient!

Fox and Titania from Disney’s Gargoyles having a mother/daughter hug.

Another one from Disney’s Gargoyles. Elisa Maza and Matt Bluestone as coppers in the Steampunk world. I had a lot of fun with this one.

Original D&D characters,Onuwen, Empress of the Known Universe and her favorite Husband, Asmodeus in full color.

Also, The Baron and Baroness of Calafia (my SCA barony) asked me to draw a design for t-shirts to gift to their court and guard. The serpent is the barony’s heraldic animal representation.

Well, that’s all I got for now! It felt great to post some art up and hopefully more will come! Or at least pictures of crazy craft time for the holidays.

Cheers All!

Disneyland Halloween Awesomeness!

Its been a week.  A crazy insane week full of complete awesome!

October is always my favorite month. Autumn begins, Halloween approaches, and of course my anniversary with Mr. Max (four years now!). Once again, Mr. Max indulged the Disneyphile in me and treated us to a fun weekend at Disneyland! WOO!

First things first. Pics of me and Mr. Max all decked out in costume at the big D-land can be found on my costume blog, Costumed Nonsense.

You can check out the entry and photos right here.

Honestly, its worth the click just to see Max driving an Autopia car in a fez.
As usual, my Disneyland posts are extremely image heavy. I kinda like snapping photos of random things. So for your blogging convenience, just proceed after the cut to get the full report!

Happy Halloween from the Chateau de Nom Nom!

I know I know… I’ve been absent.  I’m a bad, bad blogger *hangs head in shame* But I have a good excuse!  Okay, the excuse is only good for me, I’ll admit that.

First, Great Western War totally snuck up on me and my husband. Seriously.  One Monday night we were sitting, watching TV, totally chilling, then suddenly Max jumped up and shouted “AAAH! We have war coming up!”

Thus the panicked packing frenzy ensued.

A panicked packing frenzy that once again, didn’t include my camera. *headdesk*.  At least I’m consistent!

Regardless of that, we had a wonderful time! It was full of friends, good food, amazing garb, and yes, I even managed to slip some belly dancing in there! SCORE! A good time was had by all.

But now, HALLOWEEN APPROACHES!

I have a quick blog update over at Costumed Nonsense about various Halloween projects I’m working on, including clown costumes for the nephews and the beginnings of my Persephone Halloween costume as well.

You can check it out here.

As for the rest, Well, The Chateau de Nom Nom is in full Halloween swing.

Kittehs!

Announcements and fun things afoot!

No new art this post. I’m still working on my latest commissions. But I do have a couple of announcements about some great things approaching!

First off, Colleen from Wyng’d Lyon Creations has a Grand Opening coming up!

Yup! Colleen is opening her very own retail space! Hooray! So all you San Diegans out there, come on out on September 29th to Casa De Oro for food, music, and fun! One of the raffle prizes will be an original piece from me in honor of Colleen’s opening. It is going to be a blast so definitely check it out!

After that, you can go to the awesome Steampunk Event in Balboa Park!

The Steampunk Event is in conjuncture with The San Diego Automotive Museum in Balboa Park. They are encouraging folks to come dressed in their Victorian finest and check out their steampunk exhibition. The event begins at 7pm and goes until 10pm.

Also for all you San Diegans or even L.A. folk for that matter, if you’re looking for a good old-fashioned comic convention, San Diego Comic-Fest  is happening from October 19th – 21st!

It proves to be a fun and fantastic old school comic convention and I also heard that they are currently looking for artists for their artists alley!  Check out their website for more information!

Next update will include commission works from this round of themed commissions. The cue is still open so drop me a line if you’re interested!

Until Next Week! Cheers!

Dapper Days, Commissions, and Art!

To say life has been trying and busy is an understatement. But I’m hanging in there and still sketching away! Though my sewing has been falling to the wayside. I’ll have to do something about that…

Costumed Nonsense is updated! I attended Dapper Days at Disneyland last Friday and had a blast…and ended up with tons of photos.  Check it out here if you want to see some dapper folks!

Also, Thanks to all who have bitten at my last round of themed commissions! I will have the first order up next week! Until then, couples commissions are still open! Check out the link for details and drop me a line at edengarg (at) hotmail (d0t) com if you’re interested!

Until then, here are some sketches and whatnot to keep you entertained. I do my best.

Another sketch for Christine Morgan of her awesome Steampunk Duo, Chantal and Arthur. I love them so! I’m hoping to ink and color this soon. Though I’m kinda in love with it as a sketch. Going to have to haul out the light board for this one.

A logo for The Well and Spindle, a fantastic Etsy store full of beautiful hand-made goodies with a slight Norse feel.

These are special pieces to me. My Mom and Dad just celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary (I know! 50 years!). My sister and I put together a photo album of their last 50 years together and bookended it with a picture of them when they were first engaged and a picture of them now.  Happy 50th mom and dad! I love you!

That’s all for this update. Stay tuned, more art to come next week!

Cheers!

The finish line!…And Back at it Again THEMED COMMISIONS OPEN

Sorry about the lack of updates last week. It has been a crazy busy summer and I’ve been running around like a… well… crazy person. Seems to be my usual agenda in the summertime, running around like a crazy person.

Anyways, the steampunk themed commissions are done! Here’s the last on my list, Shaun Pup and Fleur Lief Pup getting ready to do some monster hunting!

Thanks to everyone who did this round. It really was a blast designing the costumes and helping create the characters! I will be shipping out everyone’s commissions this weekend so keep an eye on your mail!

Since this round is finished, guess what, its time for another round of themed commissions! *chaos music ensues* I’m a masochist, I swear.

This round’s  theme will be couples!

I absolutely love drawing couples! So any type of couple you would like I will give it a whirl (Lovers, Spouses, Mother and child, Father and child, Siblings, Partners in Crime, etc.) Keep in mind, I will not go into adult territory for these commissions so please keep your subjects rated PG-13 at the most.

I’ll be doing a flat rate of $28 for a full color marker sketch, $18 for a black and white or $13 for a pencil sketch(This price includes shipping).

You can get up to two characters per sketch (an additional $2 for every added character) The commissions are 9×12″ and done on Canson sketch paper.

So, wanting a picture of you and your honey? Or perhaps there’s a fandom OTP that you can’t get enough of. drop me a line at edengarg (at) hotmail (dot) com with what you want commissioned!

At this point, commissions will be opened until the end of September.

Until next update, cheers all!

Closing in on the Commissions Finishing Line!

Sorry about the update delay, folks. I really wanted to get two pieces done to post this week so I took a couple extra days to work on them.

I’m on my last few commissions for this round! I feel a bit like I ran a 5k… but with my pencil.

So without further ado, here are the latest two commissions on the list!

For Patrick. Demona from Disney’s Gargoyles and his original character Andrea. I’ve been drawing these two for him for a long while. I figured this rendition of them was very appropriate for the characters.

A Lady of Good Measure, for Katie. She requested a Steampunk Violinist. I thought I’d work her into my Lady Of… series I’ve been working on. I wish the scan came out a bit better. There is a lot of detail here that is lost. I think I’m going to futz around with this one in my scanner another time so I get a good copy.

So I really have just one commission left, and that is for my friend Shaun of his anthro puppy characters. Right now Its been inked and I’m coloring it in this weekend. So if you read this Shaun, you should have it by next week!

Now that this round is about done, I’ll be offering up another round of themed commissions very soon. So keep an eye on the blog if you’re wanting one!

Until next week, CHEERS!

Commissions Dumping Post.

Another round of commissions I have finished! Woot!

A Book Cover for my friend Carmen Rane Hudson. If you like Urban Fantasy, definitely check out her work. You can find more info here!

Just a work in progress right now. I’m working with my friend Erika on her next Tattoo design. This is the concept she came up with. I’m sure there will be more tweaking to go.

Another picture for another author friend! Christine Morgan writes fantastic horror and Steampunk stories. Here are two of her characters; Chantal Noir and Arthur Pearce. I read two of the stories featuring this couple and I adore them! You can find out more about Christine’s Work at her Facebook page.

Here is the updated commissions list:

  1. Rane (book cover commission): FINISHED.
  2. Erika (tattoo commission): In progress.
  3. Ken (GoT commission): FINISHED.
  4. Kandice (Steampunk): FINISHED.
  5. Christine (Steampunk): FINISHED.
  6. Patrick (Steampunk): Being Inked Right Now.
  7. Katie (Steampunk): Sketch in Progress.

As soon as the next two Steampunk commissions are posted, I’ll be opening up another round of themed commissions. Now I just have to decide on a theme. I have too many ideas!

That’s all I got for now. Its been blissfully uneventful at the Chateau de Nom Nom lately so I’ve been enjoying my time chillin’ and artin’.  I have to enjoy it while I can!

Until Next week, folks!

Cheers!

Just a quickie this week.

So much art to finish! SO MUCH!

Here are some commissions I did of various minor characters from George R. R. Martin’s A Dance with Dragons; Book five in A Song of Ice and Fire series (which I LOOOOOOVE!) I’m extremely happy with how these boys came out. I usually concentrate on doing the women from ASoIF so getting a chance to draw the men was a treat!

Next update will be full of steampunky goodness. Until then, enjoy!

SDCC Recap a.k.a I Return from the DEAD!

Yeah, I really needed a week off after San Diego Comic Con. It’s a con that will wipe you out! But it was fun and totally worth it. I had a complete blast doing SCA stuff, costuming, and hanging out with wonderful friends!

First things first though. Costuming! Well it usually is all about costuming with me isn’t it? Yeaaaaahh…

Anyways, Photos of the Archer Cosplay group and of my Annabelle Leigh Langly costume from Comic Con are up over at Costumed Nonsense. You can check out the photos here!

As for SDCC, here’s some photos of the awesome times!

Us lovely ladies pimping out the SCA fighting demo! Let me tell ya, Persian garb and silk were a God send in all that nasty heat and humidity!

My friend Jen organized an awesome Dresden Files fans meet up on Thursday evening of con. We all met at the Lincoln Room for drinks, yummies, and total geekery. A great way to kick off nerd prom! The Lincoln Room is the best place to get an Old Fashion by the way. Ooooh yes!

Unfortunately those are all the photos I have, thanks to my friends. I was so busy, I didn’t have time to take out my camera… which I ended up forgetting at home anyways. Don’t judge me!

But as usual, I had a rockin’ good time with my friends which always makes the busy times totally worth it.

And to end this post, ART!

A request from Colleen from Wyng’d Lyon for the folks at Sigh Co Graphics. You can pick up Cthulhu’s T-shirt from their website!

FINALLY in color. Madam Jezebel Norton and the notorious bandit, Charlie Colt.

And one of the steampunk commissions, finished! Here’s Gabe the changeling from the Dresden online game, Soulfire.   More commissions coming up!
